Denver, CO Stillwater Supercomputing, Inc. and the Posit Research Consortium will demonstrate a posit-enabled tensor processor hardware accelerator at the Emerging Technology Showcase at Supercomputing ’17 in Denver, CO, November 12-17.
Posits are a tapered floating point number system, more precise and more efficient as compared to IEEE floating point. At the Emerging Technology Showcase, a hardware accelerated tensor processor that uses posit-arithmetic will be demonstrated.
Stillwater Supercomputing, Inc. was founded in 2006 and Incorporated in 2007 to develop the next generation platform for computational science and engineering. Focused on improving the efficiency of execution, the Stillwater Knowledge Processing framework is facilitating the creation of best-in-class intelligent systems for high-performance embedded and autonomous systems, to large-scale cloud-based systems for bioinformatics, science, and engineering.
